What you get

The whole package, itemised.

One price covers all of this. If something below doesn’t apply to your business we’ll swap it for something that does, but the price doesn’t move.

01

Five pages

Most businesses land on some version of this. Yours might differ — we settle it on the first call, before anything is built.

Home

What you do, where you do it, and how to reach you — visible without scrolling. The single most important page on the site.

Services

A clear list of what you offer, in the words your customers actually use. Written to be skimmed, not read.

About

Who you are and why someone should trust you with the job. For most small businesses this is the second-most-visited page.

Gallery or Projects

Your work, presented properly. Photos get resized and compressed so the page still loads fast on a phone with two bars.

Contact

Phone, email, hours, service area, and a form that actually delivers. Map embedded if you have a location worth visiting.

Or your own five

Swap any of these for what suits you — Pricing, FAQ, Testimonials, a specific service page. Five is the count, not the list.

02

Built properly, not just built

  • Tested on real phone sizes. Not just shrunk down in a browser window — checked at the widths people actually hold, plus tablet and desktop.
  • Fast by default. No page builder bloat, no thirty plugins. Images are compressed and sized before they go up. Pages load in well under a second.
  • Readable. Real contrast, sensible text sizes, and tap targets big enough for a thumb. Works with a screen reader and keyboard navigation.
  • Found by Google. Proper page titles and descriptions, a sitemap, and business details marked up so search engines understand what you are and where you are.
  • No cookie banner. There’s no tracking on the sites I build unless you specifically ask for analytics, so there’s nothing to consent to.

Every one of these is true of this site too. Open it on your phone, or run it through Google PageSpeed Insights. I’d rather you check than take my word.

The plumbing, set up and explained

All of this ends up in your name, on your accounts. That’s deliberate.

  1. Hosting on Cloudflare Pages

Your site is a set of plain files served from a global network — the same infrastructure large companies use. There’s no database, no server software, and nothing that can be hacked or need patching at 2am.

At the traffic a small business gets, this costs nothing. Not a discounted rate that expires — genuinely free, with unlimited bandwidth. I set it up on your Cloudflare account and add myself as a member, so you can remove me any time and lose nothing.

  2. A contact form that delivers

The form posts to a dedicated third-party form service (Formspree or similar). Submissions land in your email inbox. It has spam filtering built in, and I test it end to end before launch — with a real submission you’ll see arrive.

Because there’s no database, no customer information is ever stored on your website. That’s one fewer thing for you to be responsible for.

  3. Your domain, in your name

I’ll help you choose a domain and walk you through registering it — but you register it, in your business’s name, on your card. Then I do the technical part of pointing it at the site and setting up the HTTPS padlock.

This matters. Plenty of people discover years later that their “web guy” owns their domain. Not here. Budget roughly $15–25 a year for a .ca or .com.

  4. A handoff document

A short PDF listing every account, every login, where the files live, how to change your hours or phone number, what to do if the form stops working, and what happens if you want to move to another developer.

Written in plain English, for you — not for another developer.

04

What’s not included, stated plainly.

Every quote you’ve had probably buried this in a proposal appendix. Here it is up front.

I don’t build these

  • Online stores or payments. No shopping carts, no Stripe, no invoicing. If you need to sell online, Shopify will serve you better than I will.
  • Customer logins or accounts. No member areas, no client portals, no password-protected sections.
  • Booking and scheduling systems. I can link out to a service you already use, but I won’t build one.
  • Databases or stored customer data. By design. It’s the main reason these sites don’t break and don’t get breached.
  • Logo and brand design. I’ll use the logo you have. If you don’t have one, I’ll point you at someone who does that properly.
  • Ongoing SEO or ad campaigns. I set the technical foundations up correctly; I don’t run marketing.

Worth knowing

  • Copywriting is collaborative. I’ll clean up and structure what you give me, and I’ll write connective text. I can’t invent what your business does.
  • Photography isn’t included. Send me your photos and I’ll make them look good. If you have none, I’ll use decent stock and tell you it’s stock.
  • Two revision rounds, then hourly. Two rounds covers almost everyone. Beyond that it’s $50/hour, and I’ll warn you before the meter starts.
  • Domain and email are billed by others. Roughly $15–25/year for the domain; business email, if you want it, is about $8/month from Google or Microsoft.
  • A sixth page is $100. Same rate for a seventh. Quoted before we start, never after.

If you’re unsure whether your project fits, call me and ask. I’ll give you a straight answer in five minutes, free.

See it rather than read about it.
